Job description: Account Manager (Maternity Cover)

Location: Nimbus Hosting HQ, Hertford, SG13 7GX

Job Type: Full Time (Monday – Fri, 09:00-17:30)

Responsible to:  Managing Director


Job purpose:

The Account Manager is responsible for the retention and development of the company’s customers, maintaining the on-going revenue stream and maximising profitability by up and cross-selling.

Main responsibilities:

  • Post sale customer support
  • Contact new customers and explain support arrangements
  • Handle renewal dates for services, e.g. SSLs, domains
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
  • Communicate with customers through face to face meetings, email and telephone calls to assess satisfaction and possible sales opportunities
  • Respond to requests for quotations and package recommendations
  • Monitor current and on-going customer service issues
  • Liaise with the technical team on behalf of customers
  • Follow up on resolved customer issues to monitor satisfaction
  • Advise customers on additional services available
  • Work with customers to define requirements
  • Contribute to solution design
  • Work with existing clients to generate new enquiries ‘Referral Program’
  • Handle and troubleshoot difficult customer enquiries


  • Contribute to the development and implementation of marketing activities
  • Contribute ideas and support to marketing and promotional collateral
  • Involvement with writing blogs and case studies
  • Participate in marketing and networking events
  • Represent Nimbus Hosting at industry events

Sales / Sales support

  • Convert telephone and email based leads
  • Understand companies’ business drivers and priorities
  • Identify any existing client problems or dissatisfactions and resolve
  • Understand the sales and decision-making process to effectively implement
  • Coordinate solution pricing and prepare quotes
  • Negotiate on the proposal variables

Business planning

  • Contribute to business plan development
  • Contribute to budget and financial forecasts
  • Contribute to policy and procedure development


  • Track and record activity on all accounts
  • Report on sales opportunities and pipeline
  • Present and discuss monthly activity reports and customer update


  • IT knowledge
  • Previous server experience desirable not essential
  • Web Hosting, Digital Agency or Web Design Experience preferred
