Regular public speaker, hailing all the way from Germany, Alain Schlesser is a pretty respected and revered speaker on the tech scene. So we were pretty excited to speak with him about his plans for WordCamp Brighton.
His second time attending, but his first time as a speaker, Alain promises a double bill for his inaugural Brighton gig: giving a workshop on app development together with Sean Blakeley from Pragmatic as well as being featured on one of the most hotly anticipated panels this year, “The Future of WordPress.” So naturally we were keen to hear about Alain’s insights on this very topic, something we at Nimbus are particularly excited about. Much like our previous interviewee Tess, Alain believes there will be a lot of upheaval due to the march forward of Gutenberg particularly expecting to see a move from server side to client side– which is something we have already heard a lot about and are keen to learn more about.
During the event, Alain rarely attends sessions, preferring the hallway track where he can network with both old and new friends. So if you are interested in meeting Alain at this year’s WordCamp, and we highly recommend that you do, you can find him alongside his wife who happily is a WordPress Community Manager for one of the Sponsors.
